World's largest-scale flywheel energy storage project with 22MW capacity; world's first flywheel energy storage frequency regulation application for thermal power units; flywheel with the highest single-unit power storage capacity globally.

Single unit specification: 630kW/125kWh. Total installed capacity: 22MW/4.5MWh, covering an area of 5000 square meters. The system consists of an array of 36 magnetic levitation flywheel units.

After commissioning, the primary frequency regulation qualification rate rises from 60%-70% to over 92%, and the AGC ramp K value increases by around 30%. The load response time drops from 6 seconds to 1 second with greatly improved regulation speed.

The project owns 6 invention patents and formulates 2 association standards. It fills the domestic gap in flywheel energy storage applied to thermal power frequency regulation, boasting remarkable social benefits and profound demonstration significance.
